How will you work on the day?

On your wedding day, if you have booked the full day package I will arrive with the Bride to capture preparation shots (typically two hours before the ceremony) and then if you’ve booked one, the second shooter will go to the Groom to shoot him getting ready. We then meet at the ceremony with one of us at the front and one at the back so you get two perspectives, allowing us to capture all the lovely emotion and those important moments. We will then generally be with you until a few songs after the first dance, the full day package is 9 hours, if you require us for any longer an additional charge per hour will apply.

How do we go about booking you for our wedding?

If you would like to go ahead with me, simply let me know, I will then send out contracts for you to read through and sign. To secure your date I require a £300 deposit which is removed from your remaining balance. This deposit is non-refundable.

Will you need feeding on the day?

YES!! We are with you for a very long time so will ask for a hot meal to be provided whilst you are sat down for your wedding breakfast, this can either be something from the bar or your main meal. Usually the chef will make more than he needs anyway so this should never be a problem. Food may not be required for the short day coverage package.

How long will it be until we receive our photos?

Between 3-12 weeks for your photos. In the quieter months it will be no longer than 4 weeks but if it is between May – September it can be anything up to 12 weeks.

Are you insured?

Yes I am 🙂 I have full public liability and indemnity insurance, it’s all very boring!

What happens to our photos after the wedding?

When I get home from your wedding, my day does not end there. I back up your photos twice on separate external hard drives. Your photos will also still be on the memory cards until a few days later so at one point they will be kept in 3 places. Then about 2 hours later I can go to bed!

How long do you keep our wedding photos for?

I don’t tend to delete photos completely, the edited files will always be on a disk at least. However I do only keep them on hard drives for 18 months. So keep those photos safe and back them up to several devices.

What happens if you are ill on the wedding day?

I get asked this question quite a lot and it’s obvious why because these things do happen! HOWEVER, it would take a hell of a lot for me to call in sick on your big day. I know how important this day is to you and to us so unless I have a broken bone I will be there! If the inevitable happens I have a huge group of photographer friends that I know, trust and can rely on. I will do whatever it takes to make sure your wedding is photographed.

Who owns copyright of the photos?

I own copyright of your wedding photos. This is so that we can use them for promotional purposes such as on the website or at wedding fairs etc. You however have full permission to print the photos yourself and use them on social networking sites. I do ask to be credited though if you wish to do this.

Do you do prints and canvases?

Yes I do! I know some excellent printers and will be very happy to sort this out for you.

How many photos will we get on the day?

On your wedding day, myself and the second shooter can take around 3000 photos between us. You will not get all of those because I take about 10-20 shots of one family group just in case someone blinks, so you are not going to want every single one of those! I cut them down to the photos I see suitable to give to you. I will give you between 500-900 photos dependent on your wedding day. If you have a 10 bridesmaids, 10 ushers, huge families, a magician, fireworks, dessert table and mountains of details you are more likely to get more images, as I like to photograph EVERYTHING! If your wedding is slightly more low key then you will get less but each and everyone will be edited and fine tuned in the SilverStar way!

Do you travel?

Yep! Everywhere and anywhere! Destination weddings would be nice also!

What happens with albums? Do we choose the photos?

I know how long it would take for you to choose your favourite 60 photos out of your set of 700/800 photos, therefore I create the album for you. I put the photos in the album which I feel work best and then i’ll email it over to you. You can make as many changes as you like, you can even add more pages if you like (the average album has 20 double page spreads so 40 pages in total). I want to make the album right for you so there are no rules! I also have a variety of covers for you to choose from.

Tell me about the engagement shoots...

I will go anywhere you would like to go. If it is local to us it will usually take up to an hour and a half. If the shoot is a bit further away, lets say a beach in Woolacoombe 😉 (see Abby and David’s shoot here!) then that’s fine, I will ask for petrol money though and perhaps a place to stay. Engagement shoots are a great way for you to get used to being photographed then come the wedding day you wont be as nervous. I try and make you feel as relaxed as possible to get those gorgeous emotive and natural shots. You can wear whatever you like on the shoots weather it be smart, casual or you could go crazy and dress up as superheroes! Whatever’s clever! If you want to bring anything with you, you can do such as wedding invites, props you may have for the day or maybe even a photo of the two of you when you got together, we want to capture you and your personalities so bring whatever you like. Cats and dogs and kids also allowed!

What happens with the images from the e-shoot?

You will get 30+ images all presented on a disk with permission to print. They will also go up on our online gallery which is password protected for your friends and family to view.

Do you do video too?

I don’t do video, however I have a few amazing videographers I can recommend.

Do you have an online gallery so that friends and family can view the photos?

Yes I do, you will find this under the client area tab on the website. They have the chance to buy prints, digital files, disks, and even albums if they wish!

Do you do baby shoots and other photography?

I do indeed. I love to photograph newborn babies, family portraits, birthday parties, proms, christenings, anything really! You just let me know your requirements and I can give you a quote.
